Installation

Strong8K setup guide

Installing Strong8K takes three steps on every device: install a player app, enter your Xtream Codes login or M3U URL, and let the channel list load. Below is what you need before you start, then a guide for each device.

Before you start

Three things you need

None of them is special hardware.

Your credentials

A server URL, username and password, issued when your subscription activates and shown in your dashboard. Keep them private - they are the keys to your connections.

A player app

Any app that accepts an M3U playlist or an Xtream Codes login. Each guide below names the apps we see work most reliably on that platform.

A steady connection

15 Mbps sustained for HD, 25 Mbps for 4K, 50 Mbps for 8K, per simultaneous stream. Wired beats wireless whenever it is practical.

M3U or Xtream Codes: which should you use?

Both hand your subscription to a player app. An M3U URL is a single playlist link the app downloads in full. Xtream Codes is an API login - a server URL, username and password - which lets the app load categories on demand and fetch the EPG separately. Prefer Xtream Codes wherever your player supports it: it starts faster and keeps the guide current. Use M3U when the app only accepts a playlist file.

If something goes wrong

The three errors we see most

Almost every failed install is one of these.

The app rejects my login

Check the server URL for a missing port number, and retype the username and password rather than pasting them - a trailing space is the single most common cause. If it still fails, confirm your subscription is active in your dashboard.

The channel list is empty after signing in

The first load pulls the entire channel list and can take a minute or two on older hardware. Leave it to finish rather than restarting the app. If it is still empty after five minutes, force-close the app and reopen it.

Channels play but the guide is blank

The EPG is fetched separately from the streams and populates after the channel list. Force a guide refresh in your player settings, and check the app time zone matches your own - a wrong time zone is what produces a guide that is correct but offset by hours.
